lyrics

I've always lived my life by judging dimming lights and fading skylines
I'd never seem to catch a sunrise only catch a glimpse while the sunset fades
You see the funny thing about the daily sunrise is that it keeps coming back
But I still catch the wrong end
But every day I believe that this is the day the tyranny of the moon will end
I sat down the other night I wallowed around in disgust of myself
Basking in the burning midnight oil waiting by the window for the sun to rise
I wrote and I wrote and I looked up to see the sunset
I guess it was too late
I guess I was meant for the moon
The trees the lone wolves the owls and I
Howling and hooing together in harmony
Was it dream? I don't believe I've ever seen the sun.
Felt its warmth...it's comfort
I took a walk some nights ago
They seem to run together...
I found the other owls
The other wolves
And we sat and stared at the trees
Watched how the moon light danced on the ground
I guess I was meant for the moon
The trees the lone wolves the owls and I
Howling and hooing together in harmony
I went back to that spot everyday
The moonlight
The moonlight
The light
I felt the light...I felt the warmth...I felt the sun
But the indigo turned pastel
And the pastels turned to orange
I looked left and I looked right
And the owl and the wolf cringed at its sight
I watched the orange but it only turned red
Only turned indigo
I guess they were right to cringe
I guess I just haven't learned
What ever happened to today?
